Junior Middle School

Columbia’s comprehensive program for students in Grades 7 and 8 responds to the unique needs of this age group, focusing on academics, making positive choices, and strong communication skills. Core curriculum is covered in 12 subjects, ranging from math and science to a course on media literacy that is unique to Columbia. Students can also access substantial support to improve their English reading, speaking, listening and writing skills, if required.

Columbia’s Grade 9 to 12 students have access to state-of-the-art educational facilities and instructors who bring learning to life. Our university placement office helps students find the best schools and programs for their needs, while our partnerships with a dozen post-secondary institutions offer our students guaranteed admission and access to special scholarships.

Academic Support

English made easier

We offer a comprehensive ESL program to help students with a range of English abilities improve their language skills. The program, which features certified instructors, varies from one semester to a full year and can be combined with academic studies at Columbia. When it’s time to get proof of progress, Columbia helps students get the best results on their IELTS, TOEFL, MELAB and CAEL tests—and we’re an official test centre for all of them.

IELTS at Columbia

Columbia is an official testing centre for the International English Language Testing System (IELTS), the world’s most widely recognized English test. We offer regular test dates for our students, conveniently based at Columbia’s campus, as well as help with applying for the test. We’re also available to answer any questions students have about the test, rules and regulations, and how to obtain and share their results.
